The now prestigious tradition of performing Shakespeare plays at the courtyard scene of Kronborg Castle started in 1816. To celebrate the 200-year anniversary of this tradition and also to mark the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare the Shakespeare Festival at Kronborg presents a variety of international and handpicked Shakespeare productions during August 2016.
